EA Taylor Glasgow Style Arts and Crafts oak hall chair by Wylie and Lochhead

£0.00

Description: Rare Glasgow Style Arts and Crafts oak hall chair. I’ve only seen one other example which featured in ‘The Glasgow Style’, a selling exhibition held in 2002 (see photos). I supplied some items for this exhibition. The example shown in the catalogue was slightly wider but interestingly it was missing the original sled base runners. This was priced at £4500 in the exhibition.

Designed by: Ernest Archibald Taylor

Manufacturer: Wylie and Lochhead, Glasgow.

Date: 1900

Dimensions: Width 67cm; Depth 54.5cm; Height 88cm

Condition: Untouched, original condition. Structurally strong. The original stained finish has worn with use over the years, this could be left alone or stripped back and sympathetically refinished.

A rare example of Glasgow Style Arts and Crafts furniture.
